    Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop #301

Welcome to our party! Today, we want to give a big shout-out to say “thanks” to our faithful team member, Marilyn Lesniak, of the popular food blog “Marilyn’s Treats.“ Marilyn has hosted our party for years. This will be her last week with us. You have got to know that Marilyn is much more than a co-host to us. She is just one of those people who goes way beyond the call of duty to help others. She shares her blogging expertise with us freely whenever we need help. Example: when our key admin’s own blog, Ducks ‘n a Row, “blew up” last year and the owner [Sinea] unexpectedly had…

    Living Room Makeover

I am so excited to show y’all my living room makeover. With some elbow grease, and just $100, my living room went from this…To this…The biggest change, is obviously the faux fireplace. You can see how I built it Here. It adds so much visual interest, and of course, it gives me another place to decorate for the holidays, which I am so excited about!! Other than the faux fireplace, the only other thing I bought was paint. I painted the walls a soft light gray, that has a slightest touch of blue. It’s an old Martha Stewart color called “cumulus cloud”. It’s one of my all time favorite colors!!!…

Favorite Things Thursday ~ DIY Autumn Garland

This garland just might be my favorite fall diy ever!! Y’all know how much I love to find things from nature to incorporate into my decor, this garland is made mostly from things that you can find in your yard, a park, or a nature walk. What I used: •acorns•branches•walnut shells• faux fall leaves (you could use real leaves, I used faux leaves so my garland will last for years to come)•metallic paint•jute twineAfter I gathered all my supplies, I started by cutting my tree branches into thin slices, about 1/4 inch think, and some 1/2 inch thick. I then drilled holes through each slice of wood, and through each…

Favorite Things Thursday ~ vintage lace

Oh, how I adore vintage lace! Whenever I see old lace, I am always sure to buy it! Isn’t the detail in old lace just exquisite! The other day, I found this frame on clearance at home good for just $12. I have been eyeing this frame for a while now, but couldn’t justify spending $29 on it, but for $12, I’ll take it!I knew it was going to look amazing with some vintage lace displayed in it. At first, I was just going to place rows of lace, but then decided to do a little seasonal vintage lace arrangement. I started by drawing a basic pumpkin shape on paper.…

    Top Shelf Clearance Challenge

I was invited by some of my sweet blogger friends (their blogs are listed at the bottom of the post), to be part of a fun clearance challenge. The challenge was to spend no more than $15, on a clearance item(s), and then incorporate the items into our fall decor in our homes. I thought this challenge was going to be super easy, turns out, finding cute clearance items is quite challenging. I looked and looked everywhere, but kept coming up empty handed! Finally, last night as I was at Walmart getting groceries, I decided to look at their clearance section. I found some frames, and this cutie little tin…

Favorite Things Thursday ~ Seeded Eucalyptus

I absolutely love to incorporate seeded eucalyptus into my fall decor! There is just something about it, that gives me all the fall feels! This year, we finally got a Trader Joe’s in the area, they always have bunches of these lovely eucalyptus branches, and at such a great deal! It’s embarrassing to admit how many times I go into Trader Joe’s every week, just to buy eucalyptus. Doesn’t the eucalyptus add such a whimsy fall vibe? How do you decorate for fall? Thank you for visiting LeCultivateur!!! ~Emily Check out where I have linked this project…. Blog link list Please follow and like us:

    DIY Faux Fireplace

A few years ago when we were looking for a new house, a fireplace was on my “must have” list. After looking at sooooo many houses, I thought we would never find a house. After we walked through our house, I knew it was perfect in so many ways, but was lacking a fireplace. It was already to the drywall phase of construction, and much too late into the building process to add a fireplace. But, I knew that this was the house for us, and one day I could add a fireplace. For now, I am so happy to have my new faux fireplace. I’ve always wanted a mantel…
