Christmas in July
Happy Saturday, friends!! Today, I’m so excited to be joining some blogging friends for a Christmas in July blog hop, hosted by the very sweet Terrie of Decorate and More With Tip. For my blog post today, I decided to put together a Christmas-y tablescape. Vagabond House recently sent me these darling Nutcracker Taper Candle Holders and Ornament Salt and Pepper Shakers which instantly inspired this tablescape! Mixed metals, glittered and gilded nuts, woods and whites, with a little twinkle and candle light are giving me all the holiday feels!! Although I am a summer girl, through and through, I can’t lie, receiving these darling nutcracker taper holders and ornament…

French Vintage Friday ~ deconstructed antique chairs
Happy Friday, friends!!! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! Today, for French Vintage Friday, I’m sharing something that I’ve had sitting in my garage since December…. Yep, these chairs have been waiting for quite some time to get all fixed up. I started by taking the fabric off the chairs, and removing all the staples. I LOVE the old burlap on the back, so I’m going to leave it exposed. Why cover up such beauty?!! Notice the big divot in the middle of the seat, it most definitely needed to be fixed. To fix it, I placed a big pile of batting in the seat. I then placed a…

Simple summer vibes
Hi friends!! Happy Thursday! Today, I’m so excited to be joining my sweet friend, Tara, to show y’all a simple summer project. For my project, I found these plants on clearance at Walmart. With a little clipping and trimming, these little plants are going to be cute topiaries. After they where all trimmed up, I planted them in pots that I recently found at Michael’s for just a few dollars. All of the summer decor is 70% off at Michael’s right now! Vintage books, terra-cotta pots, and these topiaries is all that is needed for this simple summer mantel decor. Hopefully I can keep the plants alive! 💗💗💗 Let’s hop…

Grocery store cake makeover
Hi friends! Happy Sunday! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! Today, I want to share a little hack that can come in handy sometimes, a grocery store cake makeover. I use this hack anytime I’m running behind and need a quick birthday cake or dessert. This is just one idea, but there are so many great ways to give a little makeover to grocery store cakes/dessert. For this, I started with an average grocery store cake… Scraped most of the frosting and sprinkles off. I wanted to create a “naked” look, so after the original frosting was removed, I added a thin layer of store bought buttercream frosting to…

French Vintage Friday – antique settee
Happy Friday, friends!!! I hope you’ve had a good week, full of sunshine and happiness! Today, for French Vintage Friday, I’m sharing something that I’ve had for a while, but recently redid, this antique settee. I really liked the red, but my neutral loving heart wasn’t loving it, so I started to pull the fabric off. With the help of a friend, I realized that the original burlap fabric on the back would be so cute to keep as-is. I decided to reupholster the seat in a cream polka dot fabric, and use simple black upholstery tacks to finish it. Polka dots seem so happy! Love them! I’m totally loving…

Simple summer vibes in the kitchen
Hi friends!! Today, I’m showing how I added a little summer love to my kitchen, using some apricot branches that I cut from a wild apricot tree that was growing randomly on the side of a road. I always love finding ways to bring the natural beauty of the outdoors into my home. Sometimes the simplest decor makes the biggest impact. Love it!! I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and for leaving such sweet comments! Y’all are the best! ~Emily Check out where I have linked this project…. Blog link list
