Favorite Things Thursday

Hi y’all! Hope you’re having a good week! Can you believe it’s almost the weekend!! Yay!

Every Thursday, I am going to start posting one of my current favorite things. It could anything be from a favorite vintage or new find, favorite product, favorite book, favorite movie/tv show, a great sale…really just anything that I’m totally into at the moment. Just a little something for y’all to get to know me a little better!

Like so many others, my current obsession and favorite thing, ironstone! Every summer we spend a week with my husband’s family in West Virginia, and then a week in Duck, North Carolina with my family. While in Duck, NC, we spend all day, everyday out on the beach! While in West Virginia, I spend a lot of time scouring antique stores. The antique stores there are full of treasures!! A few weeks ago while on our family vacation, I bought my very first pieces of ironstone.

I know I am so late getting on the ironstone train. The reasons it took me so long to start my ironstone collection…There aren’t many pieces to be found here in Utah. Also, I wanted to make sure that I really loved ironstone and wasn’t just jumping on the ironstone trend train. I am always so mad at myself when I start a collection based on trends and not my own liking. Those are the collections that I dislike as quickly as I fell in love.

Ironstone really has my heart right now. Its like my decor black dress, timeless and classic, it can be dressed up, or dressed down, it’s my everyday go to. I can fill an ironstone pitcher full of flowers on my table for a centerpiece, or stack some pieces for a sweet little countertop display.

I’d love to know…What makes you start a new collection? How do you collect? Things that you love? Random pieces? Pieces all in the same set/style? Trendy pieces? Nostalgic pieces?

Thank you for visiting LeCultivateur!!!
