A Few Simple Christmas Touches To My Dining Room
This year, I added just a few small Christmas touches to my dining area. First of all, I have to tell you…these stocking are my favorite!! Y’all know how much I LOVE lace! These lace beauties are so cute, and are even cuter in person! They are from Free People, two years ago. I had my eye set on them all season, but waited for them to go on major sale after Christmas. Because my home has an open floor plan, there isn’t a dining room per say, but just a dining area between, the kitchen and the family room. I have four boys, needless to say, I don’t create…

Favorite Things Thursday ~ vintage lace
Oh, how I adore vintage lace! Whenever I see old lace, I am always sure to buy it! Isn’t the detail in old lace just exquisite! The other day, I found this frame on clearance at home good for just $12. I have been eyeing this frame for a while now, but couldn’t justify spending $29 on it, but for $12, I’ll take it!I knew it was going to look amazing with some vintage lace displayed in it. At first, I was just going to place rows of lace, but then decided to do a little seasonal vintage lace arrangement. I started by drawing a basic pumpkin shape on paper.…

Favorite Things Thursday ~ vintage butter pats
Do you ever come across something, and wonder why you have never stumbled across this before? That’s how I felt about vintage butter pats. One afternoon, while walking the aisles of a local antique store, I found three vintage butter pats. I was in love!! Now that I know what these darling little plates actually are, I have noticed so many pictures of vintage butter pats, all of Pinterest and Instagram. Aren’t they just so cute and so sweet? My collection has just only started, and consists of a mere five butter pats, but is sure to grow. Some people collect matching sets, but y’all know how much I love…

Entry Makeover
For those of you that don’t know, my husband and I bought a new house about two years ago. It is so very plain, with white walls, and very little added character and charm. I have finally decided to do some inexpensive room makeovers! Each makeover is going to be $100, or less! I started with my entry way, it is small and in desperate need of a little added character and charm. Here is the entry before…Plain white walls, and a red door that I never truly loved the shade of! I started by adding moldings. All of which were cut from one 4ft x 8ft sheet of mdf,…

Favorite Things Thursday~ Mirrors
There is no question, I adore vintage mirrors!!! Yesterday, as I was working on moving a bunch of my mirrors from one room to another, I realized just how much I love my old, perfectly imperfect mirrors!Mirrors make the best backdrops for fun displays. You’ll almost always find fresh flowers, or foraged greenery in the forefront of my mirrors. I am working on a little creative challenge for myself, 100 dollar room makeovers. I love when I limit the money that I spend, it makes me use my creativity and ingenuity. I started in my entry, I will share it with y’all on Monday! Thank you for visiting LeCultivateur!!! ~Emily…
