Happy Friday y’all! Did you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day? I love Valentine’s Day! My little boys always make holidays so much fun! For the past week, everyday after school, my two youngest sons would sit at the table and make valentines for hours. They have made me quite the collection of the sweetest little valentines that I have ever seen! My heart is so full! Being a mom is one of the hardest, and most rewarding things that I have ever done. My boys are my life!
Speaking of motherhood, I couldn’t have ever imagined how busy, and all involved, being a mom would be. It is a constant, never ending job. The other day Tara at Stilettos and Shiplap and I were chatting about motherhood. Whereas motherhood is such a huge part of our lives, we thought it would be fun to post our five must haves for a busy mom life. As I thought about five things to post, the only hard part was trying to narrow the list down….there are SO many useful things that I use on a daily. The five things that I am sharing today, are definitely things that make my day, as a busy mom, run a lot smoother, easier, and happier.
•My first must have is vitamins. I wasn’t always such a strong believer of vitamins, but after having my fourth son, I was ALWAYS so tired! Granted, he is now four years old, and still has a horrible sleep cycle, but once I started taking my daily vitamins, (especially vitamin D) I cannot tell you how much better I feel, and how much more energy that I have. Every night, before bed, I take… I am seriously dragging through the day, when I don’t take my vitamins regularly. Now, if only I could get a full night of uninterrupted sleep, I can’t even imagine how great I would feel.
•My second must have, Z Bars. These are a favorite of all of my kids. Even my pickiest kids eat these. Not only are these bars loved by my kids, but they’re also healthy. They are perfect for the late mornings, when I’m running behind, and I need a quick breakfast for my kids. A snack before sports practice/games. Perfect for my little man to eat, while we’re out running errands all afternoon. I like to keep these in my purse, and in my car, because I never know when I’ll need a quick snack for one of my kids. And y’all know, hungry kids are often grouchy kids.
•My third must have, my favorite mom bag. I have had this bag for a little over a year now, and I LOVE it. It can take the abuse of being thrown around, stepped on, spilled on, etc. And, it holds everything!! I don’t know how my bag accumulates so much stuff throughout the day, but it does….little shoes, socks, snacks, lotion, chapstick, toys, books, tablets, etc. I always have so much to carry for my kids, and having a big bag helps so much. This bag especially comes in handy when traveling with my littles, or when going to my older boys’ sporting events. The amount of things that I bring, just to keep my two youngest boys entertained is unreal.
I seriously LOVE this bag! It is worth every penny!
• My fourth must have, Baby lotion. Really, you NEED baby lotion? Yep, I sure do! It comes in handy for so many different situations. Dirty faces? Put a little baby lotion on their sweet little face, and wipe with a clean cloth. Running late, and someone’s hair isn’t combed (I only have boys)? I run a little baby lotion through their hair, and it stays styled all day. And of course, dry skin. It’s a must!! Johnson’s baby lotion is my favorite!
• My last must have…a quick and easy makeup routine. This isn’t a must have for everyone, but it is for me. I feel so much better, and get so much more done in a day, when I start my day off by getting ready. But, being a busy mom, I don’t have a lot of time, so I keep my makeup super simple.
I have tried SO many different foundations, all different price ranges, department store and grocery store. The foundation that I love is L’Oréal Lumi Foundation. It isn’t a heavy foundtaion, it is actually pretty sheer, I love it! For my bronzer, highlighter, blush, and eyeliner, I get mine from M•A•C cosmetics. And for mascara, I’m loving Maybelline right now….I’m always trying different mascaras, I still haven’t found one that I completely love yet. Do you have a favorite mascara? I’m always up to trying something new. From start to finish, it only takes about 10 minutes to put my makeup on everyday, but it makes such a huge difference in how I take on the day.
There are plenty more “must haves” that I didn’t mention, but these five things are definitely at the top of my list. These things help my day run a lot smoother and happier for both myself, and my sweet boys.
Do you have “must haves”? What are they, is love to hear!!
And, now I’m heading over to see what Tara is sharing as her top five must haves! Can’t wait to read her blog post!
