French Vintage Friday ~ vintage silver

Happy Friday, y’all! This week has been a busy one! I haven’t even decorated much for Christmas yet, but I did put together a Thanksgiving/fall tablescape this week. I’m hosting Thanksgiving at my house this year, and I want my table to be perfect!

Anyway, something that I am so excited to use this year on my table is the vintage silver that my mom gifted to me.

I have always wanted to own my own set of vintage silverware, but I never came across any that was within my budget. Now, thanks to my sweet mom, I have my own set to use this Thanksgiving!

What are your Thanksgiving plans? Are you hosting or going somewhere? I’d love to hear!

Now, let’s go and see what Tara is sharing today. Just click on the picture below…

Thank YOU so much for visiting LeCultivateur!!!

Hope y’all have a wonderful Monday!!

  1. Beautiful and such a great mom to get these for you.

O have many pieces of silverware my one grandmother collected over her adult life. Beautiful different pieces. Instead of it hang in my buffet I should clean it and use it

  2. Hi, Emily, how funny, I have been fixating on silver (plate) lately. I live in upstate NY, home of the late, very lamented Oneida Silver Smith factories and have many family connections there as well.
Since I am a constant thrift store shopper (stalker) I was thrilled to find an almost complete Oneida silver plated tea set, and a few related items, over many trips around the CNY area. But I have to say, my best experience was with a thrift store employee. She is retired, wants to help others, and needs a little extra income. She had inherited a complete Oneida real silverware set but had no idea what to do, how to clean all that black gunk off it. Oh, I was right there, got her onto silver polish, no abrasives, etc. And told her to have it appraised and insured and not to toss it into her SA bin, lol.
It is amazing how my house decorating interests (obsession) has helped me to help others and to make new friends.
So, thanks again and I am always looking for your latest posts.

    1. You’re the sweetest!! You sound like an amazing woman! That is the sweetest thing that you helped that sweet woman! A lot of people would have tried to buy it from her, for near to nothing, but you helped her see the value! I truly admire you!!

  4. How sweet of your mom! I always wanted vintage silver when I was younger. I thought I would spend my weekends polishing my silver. Little did I know that I’d never have time for that! 🤣
