Foraging Happiness ~ DIY Bird Nest

Happy Monday, lovelies!!! How was your weekend? We have had some really nice, spring like weather lately, until Sunday that is, when it snowed all day! Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the snow, and all of its beauty, but I can hardly wait for spring to arrive!! Warmer weather, sunny days, birds chirping, flowers blooming, kids running and playing outside, and so much more! In my anticipation for spring to arrive, my little boys and I went around the yard foraging a few things to make some spring birds nests.Obviously this isn’t all foraged. We also stopped by Michael’s to get some grapevine nests, and a few faux flowers/greenery.…

Little Boys’ Bedroom Makeover ~ Book Page Wallpaper

Happy Friday, friends! I am so excited to be sharing my little boys’ bedroom makeover today. It has been quite a few weeks in the making, but my four sweet boys keep me quite busy. I started by installing board and batten, using 1X4 furring strips, that I bought at Lowe’s for less than $2 each! After all the boards were up, I spent the better part of an entire day caulking, filling nail holes, and sanding. Then the board and batten got a coat of primer and white paint. Now it was time for the “book page wallpaper”. I decided to use Shel Silverstein books for the wall treatment. I…

Favorite Things Thursday ~ White Wax

Happy Valentine’s Day!! Today I’m sharing something that I used for the first time, just last week, and I’m so loving it! It’s white wax, by Waverly. This wax is generally used to seal a chalk painted surface, but I used it to add a little depth and dimension, as well as a little personality, to a wood table base that I recently stripped. The table was beautiful in its original state, but it wasn’t completely my style. I felt like the table was a bit too formal looking for my home. Here is the table before…And here it is now, sanded and finished with white wax… I am also…

    DIY Stenciled Backsplash

I had so many questions about my backsplash last week, so I thought I would share all the details with y’all. You know those projects that you really want to get to, but in order to get to them, you have so many other projects to completely first? That’s how I was feeling about the backsplash in my kitchen. I really want to put up a beautiful backsplash, but that can’t happen until I get new countertops, which can’t happen until I redo my island. All of these things, counter tops, backsplash, redoing my island, are all things that are on the “wait” list. While I’m waiting to do all…
