Before and After ~ an easy chair makeover

This weekend I decided to redo up a pair of chairs that I got on the Facebook yard sale, for just $20!! I started by stripping all the fabric off the chair, and pulling out all the staples. There were so many staples!!! Pulling all the staples out, was the most time consuming part of this project. After I took all the fabric off the chair, I painted and distressed the legs. I then used the pieces of fabric that I took off the chair, as my patterns to cut out the new pieces of fabric. I stapled my new fabric on, in the opposite order that I took each piece off. When stapling the new fabric on, make sure to keep the fabric nice and taut. You don’t want the fabric loose and sloppy looking. I was going to make some double welting to cover the staples, but I am liking the raw edges. And, if I do change my mind, I can always add the double welting later. For the cushion covers, I cut a square of fabric, twice the size of the cushion, and tucked it down and around the cushion. This was literally a no sew, and super easy chair makeover.
