They Are Growing Up So Fast – boys room refresh

Happy Monday, friends!!! I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend!

A while back I started a little refresh in my boys’ room, and finally got around to finishing it. Yay!!

Here’s a little look at how the space has evolved over the past couple years. It started as a shared bedroom for my two youngest boys, with bunk beds. I added board and batten to the walls, and used book pages for wallpaper. Click HERE to see how I did the book page wallpaper.

Then my boys decided that they wanted their own rooms. My youngest kept this room. I converted the bunks beds into a day bed. Click HERE to see how I made the daybed.

And my older son got a room that had more of a “big kid” style.

They never ended up sleeping in their own rooms, in fear of the “boogie man”, so I moved them back into a room together.

It’s so much easier having them in the same room, and now they don’t get scared at night!

These little shelves hold little “treasures” that they find here and there, as well as some treasures that I’ve found along the way.

It’s hard to capture just how cozy this room really is. It’s always been one of my favorite rooms in the house! It will be fun to see how it continues to evolve!

Let’s hop over and see what project Tara has finished and is sharing today! Simply click on the picture below….

I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

  1. I just love this room. I think it has looked fantastic every time you’ve re-done it but it’s so much more grown up looking now. I really like those black bed frames. It all looks so perfect for your boys yet so coordinated and stylish at the same time and I adore all the vintage touches, as you well know! You knocked another one out of the park!

Their room looks wonderful for two boys, and they do have quite a bit of space for their own treasures they find. I love the wall covering, the book pages, very clever.
