French Vintage Friday ~ bone dishes
Happy Friday, sweet friends!! Today, for French Vintage Friday, I’m sharing something that I think is so unique and so cute, bone dishes! These sweet, uniquely shaped dishes were used to discard bones on, throughout a meal. And the fact that these bone dishes are English ironstone, makes me love them even more! Ironstone will forever have my heart! 💗💗💗 Let’s hop over and see what Tara is sharing today. Simply click on the picture below…. Thank YOU so much for visiting my blog!! I hope y’all have an amazing day! ~Emily Check out where I have linked this project…. Blog link list

From half wall to banister and railing – DIY
Happy Thursday, friends!!! I’ve had this banister project done for a few weeks now, but just haven’t found the time to actually blog about it, until today. Remember what it looked like before…. Ever since the day that we moved into this house, I wanted to open the wall up, and add railing. And what better time than quarantine!! I started by mapping out where I was going to cut, and then carefully investigated inside the wall. I knew that I was going to need to move the thermostat, but then also realized that I would also need to move the light switch. This was relatively easy to do. First…

French Vintage Friday – old blue jars
Happy Friday, friends!! Here in the states, it’s Memorial Day weekend! In honor of Memorial Day, I put together a patriotic mantel display, using antique/vintage blue jars and flowers from my garden. I got these beauties, last year at an auction, for just $5 for the set! Some are more on the vintage side, and some are antique. I especially love the old jars with air bubbles in the glass! For my mantel, I simply put some viburnum “snowballs” in the jars, with flags. Here’s a little tip, if you want to keep your viburnum clippings lasting longer, dip the ends of the cut stems into alum, before placing…

French Vintage Friday ~ chippy antique bench
Happy Friday, friends!! Today, for French Vintage Friday, I’m sharing this darling, chippy bench back. I adore the chippy paint!!! My sister had an antique bench in her back yard that she was going to get rid of. As we looked at it, we had an idea…she would take the seat part of the bench and use it as a coffee table in her living room, and I would take the back. I had the perfect place in mind! I’m completely loving it!!! I have wanted to put something there for awhile now, but didn’t know exactly what, until now. It’s always exciting to think outside of the box, and…

The art of flowers
Happy Thursday, friends!!! I’m so excited because today’s post is all about flowers! I absolutely adore fresh flowers, and love to have them around my house always and always! Today, I’m going to show you two arrangements that I made. Both are completely my style, and yet they are so very different from each other. First, a vintage basket full of one single type of bloom, Viburnum, also known as snowballs, fresh from my garden. I love arranging fresh blooms in containers that aren’t necessarily made for flower arranging, such as baskets, buckets, boxes, crates, etc. Gather your fresh blooms, a container, and some sort of vase/container that can hold…

Quarantine upcycling challenge – from bunk beds to day bed
Happy Monday, friends!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend, celebrating all the women in your lives! Today, I’m so excited to be joining some friends for a fun challenge! While it’s been kinda tricky for everyone to get out to gather supplies for new projects, we decided to challenge ourselves and create something using only things that we had on hand. I decided to turn these bunk beds…. Into a daybed…. I’ve been wanting to find a daybed for this room for a while now, and then it hit me…I could make one! I took the beds apart, then cut the inner legs off both the…

Using vintage books in your everyday decor
Hi friends!!! I’m so excited to be joining some very talented ladies today for a fun blog hop, all about vintage books, hosted by the very sweet Cindy from County Road 407. When decorating, there are two things that I almost always add to a space, fresh flowers/greenery and vintage books. Those are my go-to staples of decor. I absolutely adore old books! Their charm and character gives me all the feels! I was planning on sharing a few different areas in my home, in which I have used vintage books to decorate. Then yesterday, on a whim, I decided to clean and refresh my living room. And, turns out,…
